A legend with name up in lights
Taking first class flights
Sampling all delights
Best of all to behold
Telling stories, bold
Rising, rising whilst others fold
They stay at the top of their game
For a while, things are the same
Then a downward spiral takes hold
Not quite so bold
You slip out of the mold….
Years pass
Public forgets
Glamour remains
Fame is the ship which has long since sailed
A faded star; you travelled so far
fame
“House of Cards” – a poem
Your life is like a game of cards
And once you held the flush
Parties, glamour, name in lights
You lived the life; relished the rush
Then the phone stop ringing
When a scandal came your way
An innocent party; mistaken identity
You were the one who had to pay
Today’s headlines; tomorrow’s chip paper
Mud sticks and you pay the price
Failed ambition becomes your karma
You live on the roll of the dice
A few drinks later, your career is a mess
The phone doesn’t ring and you’re less than impressed
The fragments of talent are starting to fade
You look in the mirror at the mess you have made
You once had it all, now it’s gone, it’s true
And what’s left at the end, is the product of you.
