La Luna – a poem inspired by the Pixar short film

The moon is just a mirror ball

We are dancers in its light

Specks of rainbow prism

Oh! What a glorious sight

La Luna shines brightly in the celestial night

In sparkling shades of silver and gold

The eternal mystery of its changing light

Is formed from shooting stars, behold!

Lapping tides on Midnight’s water

All is quiet on the rippling sea.

Rising moonshine for sons and daughter

Climb to the moon and make it free

In awe and wonder you care-take the skies

A shower of stars form an epic display

And change the moon’s shape to a sequinned surprise

Whilst we are sleeping soundly, and quietly lay.
